Blind or Free?

An encouragement to pray.

A few days ago Father shared something with me about his family in regards to what some of them believe and how they live.

A lot of God’s people have been blinded by the enemy’s lies and deceit. They have been led to believe that they know the will of God and to they think they have, and operate in, wisdom. What they believe, however, is not the truth and is just part of the enemy’s plan to shut down any of God’s work in the world.

Father gave me a picture to explain this:

I saw God laying down a path before a man. As the man is standing there, getting the courage to take the first step and start along the path, the enemy came along and stood in front of him, blocking the path from view. This covered the entrance to the path with darkness, and because of this the man became confused and afraid. The man then turned away to look for another way to go. The enemy then showed the man another path. This path was decorated with beautiful lights and flowers to make it seem like the right way to go.

I then saw the man start to walk down this new and ‘beautiful’ path. As he is walking along, a blindfold begins to descend upon him and wraps itself around his head. This blindfold signifies all the lies and deceit of the enemy that the man has started to believe and live in. This blindfold stops the man from seeing what is actually around him. The path he was on was just a path of darkness and thorn bushes. He was living in darkness and untruths.

This picture changed to another picture:

As this man is walking along, I started to see a bunch of paths surrounding the one that this man was on. These paths were the paths of fellow Christians who knew the truth and lived in the light of God. These other people started praying for this man who was living in darkness. They were praying for God’s light to shine through and reveal the truth to this man, and for the blindfold of lies to be removed. The more they prayed these things, the more his path started to change. The thorn bushes, started to grow beautiful flowers, the darkness started to lift, and the blindfold started to unravel.

The man in this story represents all those who do not really know the will of Jesus, the light of Jesus and the life of Jesus. These are the people who don’t go any further with God than a Sunday session, who claim to live as Jesus and still walk in Sin and justify it by saying ‘God forgives me anyway’. It’s the people who think that God comes out of a book, and that miracles or spiritual gifts have no place in our lives.
